BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Buffalo School Board President Dr. James Williams left Wednesday night's School Board meeting after being confronted about the controversy on the closing of the Campus West School.

You saw angry students and parents protesting LIVE on Channel 7's Eyewitness News at 5 before going into the meeting.

Once inside, the parents complained bitterly to Dr. Williams. In addition, frequent critic of Williams developer and attorney Carl Paladino added his voice to the mix.

Most of the criticism was over the closing of Campus West, a school slated to close next year on the Buffalo State College campus.

Williams left after being called a liar.

He is scheduled to meet with Campus West parents Thursday afternoon to continue the discussion.

Before the Superintendent walked out, Eyewitness News was there when the Board decided that teachers will no longer be required to live within city limits.

That resolution was sponsored by Board President Ralph Hernandez to help Buffalo attract more and better teachers.

The vote was close, passing 5 - 4.
