AMHERST INTERNATIONAL MEMORIAL
May 28-29, 2011
Dear Tournament Participants and Volunteers,
I am writing this with great disappointment that our 29th Annual AIM Soccer Tournament is cancelled this year. We tried our best to make this happen. Yesterday we identified two fields unplayable and made plans to setup and move to a new location. The huge amount of rain received last night with more due today and over the weekend was the final act the fields could take. The saturation and conditions have now become dangerous. Due to record rainfall in the Buffalo area, most if not all, of the playing fields have experienced closure and unplayable conditions over the last three weeks.
Our town fields are now likely unplayable, sunshine permitting, until mid-week. We are sorry for the late notice but, we wanted to make every effort to play the games. The fields are closed due to water overload and for player safety to avoid a serious injury due to the field conditions.
We will be refunding registration fees. Please be patient as we have many checks that need to be cut and just one Treasurer. The checks will be sent to the address we have on file for your team. Thanks to all of our sponsors and advertisers. Please patronize our supporters.
We will be distributing our program and advertiser book in the future and selling beautiful AIM tie dye shirts.
We want to thank you for your support and would love to see everyone back next year for our 30th tournament .
