Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WKBW) - Wicked weather may be a problem across the country but passengers at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport were good to go Wednesday morning with hardly any delays across the board.

"I'm surprised the airport isn't as packed as it usually is," passenger Andrew Rewscott said.

The morning began with a long line at security.

"They seem to get the lines down in a reasonable time," Rewscott said.

It was nothing these Western New Yorkers couldn't handle.

Triple A said more then 42 million people across the country will be traveling this holiday by trains planes and automobiles. The Dipasqua Family was boarding a flight to Disney World.

"We've been up since 5:30 a.m. The airports has been great we did check in outside," Franco Dipasqua said.

They were relieved to see a new rule that kids don't have to take off their shoes to go through security, another unexpected time saver.

"It is always a scramble to get their shoes on and off and worried about the carriage so it's a nice step we can skip," Amy Dipasqua said.

Should the airport get crowded due to weather or just the hustle and bustle of the holidays, TSA officials have some tips to get you through the security line. Be sure to put you jacket in a carry on bag so it's out of the way. They say to also adults should put shoes on the conveyer belt. Try not use bins because they stop the lines from running smoothly. Also, no holiday food or wrapped gifts can go through the security line.

Although it may take a lot to get to where you want to be this holiday, for many eager little Buffalonians, it's not at all about the journey, its the destination that counts.

"I can't wait to see Mickey Mouse and go on all the fun rides," Sabrina Dipasqua said.
