Summary: Cheektowaga, NY (WKBW)- An investigation is underway following the discovery of a handwritten note at the Sandstone Court Apartments on French Road in Cheektowaga. The note claims a women's body is buried underneath a closet inside an apartment. Then note was discovered inside a fuse box by a tenant Monday afternoon. The investigation is still very preliminary, but police are now trying to find out if there are indeed human remains buried there or if this is a hoax. Detectives are also tracing the history of tenants and others who've been in the apartment.

"(The note) is very brief. It doesn't give us a whole lot. It's not well written and the handwriting is not real legible," said Cheektowaga Police Captain John Glascott. "We're going to react, but we're not going to over react. We're going to look at this and talk with our partners with the FBI, do an ultrasound, and take a look if there's a possibility anything is underneath there."

Police are not releasing the note found by the tenant. Nearby residents and business owners say they are disturbed by the news, but have their doubts about the letter.

"It does sound a little crazy," said Jillina Kwiatkowski, who owns a business nearby. "I work late nights here and I have a straight view of the apartment parking lot from my office. I've never seen anything unusual."
