NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW-TV) - Aerialist Nik Wallenda will conquer his dream on June 15 when he walks across Niagara Falls, but he may have to do so with a safety harness. In an interview this morning, Wallenda said he has never used a "line" or safety harness in his life and his dream is to walk across Niagara Falls without one. However the ones asking him to wear one are big players in this event.
"To be honest a lot of our sponsors are very concerned about the event," said Wallenda. "And a lot of them have threatened to back out that are funding this event if I don't wear a line."
Wednesday morning Wallenda practiced outside the Seneca Niagara Casino through wind and rain. He said he felt comfortable on the wire and was ironically talking about walking with water on the wire last night.
"I told my dad yesterday I don't care tomorrow if we have to bring a bucket of water out and dump it on the wire and soak my shoes in it," Wallenda said. "I want feel what it's like and god answered my prayers last night."
