Of 508 metropolitan and micropolitan areas surveyed, Jamestown ranked 2nd in the nation for having old housing stock.
According to the latest installment of the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, the average home in the Jamestown-Dunkirk-Fredonia area was built 67 years ago.
The Buffalo-Niagara Falls area, which consists of Erie and Niagara counties, is 10th in the age rankings. The average home in the Buffalo metro area was built in 1953, which was 58 years ago.
