BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) Western New York weathered a windy Saturday. High Wind Warnings were posted for most of the day, with peak gusts hitting 65MPH in some sections.
The wind brought down a billboard near the TOPS Supermarket in North Buffalo, trees in Niagara County, and debris brought up from Lake Erie left on Hamburg beach.
The waves splashed across Route 5 in Athol Springs near Hoak's Restaurant across from St. Francis High School in the area known as "the car wash," and crashed over the breakwalls near homes in nearby Hoover Beach.
