WNY Red Cross Volunteers Going to Pensacola

Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - The Red Cross is sending volunteers to the central and southeastern part of the country, which has been hit hard by tornadoes and flooding.

Six volunteers from the Buffalo and Rochester areas are heading to Mississippi, Arkansas and Florida.

Diane Sargent of Lockport and Peter Swales of Springville left Friday morning to Pensacola, Florida. They will help with disaster assessment in the flood stricken area.

Other volunteers include Robert Barton of Savannah, Dr. Alani Santon of Brighton, Tom Wallace of Elmira and Ferris Todd of Canadaguia.

Anyone who wants to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief can visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
