BUFFALO N.Y. (WKBW) The Affordable Care Act has been controversial from the beginning.
So, it is no surprise that the Supreme Court ruling upholding the provisions of the healthcare law has generated passionate responses from people opposed to, and in-favor of the healthcare legislation.
But among the medical community, the reaction has been very positive.
"I think it means a healthier Western New York as a result. The reality is so many people, who don't have insurance, put off getting routine preventative care because they simply cannot afford it," says WNY Healthcare Association president, John Bartimole
"As a result they end up in emergency rooms, where they are uninsured, and their situations are more serious than they would have been if preventative care had been used. So I'm hoping that this turns into a healthier Western New York once it is fully implemented"
