BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) The 4th installment of the outrageous movie series "American Pie" is open at theaters in Buffalo, and across the country.

There is a Western New York connection to this major motion picture.

One of the stars is Charlene Amoia, a Buffalo native who plays the wife of one of the main characters in "American Reunion."

This isn't Charlene's first big break on the screen. She has a recurring role in the sitcom "How I Met Your Mother," and has worked with some of Hollywood's biggest stars.

Amoia talked via SKYPE with Eyewitness News Friday and talked about the celebrities she has rubbed elbows with.

"Will Smith and Woody Harrelson were the biggest names at this point, but from this movie I was reuniting with Alyson Hannigan, and Neil Patrick Harris, and the rest of the cast, which have big names at this point," Amoia told Channel 7.

However, being in Los Angeles does come with a price.

"I miss my family and friends in all honesty, there is nothing like Buffalo people. They're warm and generally there is quite a difference, whenever I go home and come back, I have to get adjusted. I miss my friends out there," Charlene said in the SKYPE interview.

You can catch Buffalo's own Charlene Amoia in the movie "American Reunion."
