WNY Income Lags Behind

WNY income is growing, but it can't compare to other areas in the U.S. Total personal income is the money earned by all residents in an given area. On Numbers analyzed TPI for 455 large counties and cities across the U.S.
Over the past 25 years, Douglas County, Colorado came in first with the fastest growth rate for income. Erie County came in 432nd place. Niagara County came in 440th place.
Consider the past five years, and Onslow County, North Carolina came in first, thanks to the Marine Corps' Camp Lejeune, which is located there. Erie County did edge up to 312th place. Niagara moved up to 326th.

A new used tire business on Main Street near Canisius College in Buffalo already has a unique history, thanks to its owner who is a Ukraine immigrant. "Western New York's home of the quality $19.99 tire" features used tires with prices that go up to $40. The Tonawanda resident moved to WNY from the Ukraine 14 years ago and is now a business owner.
