WILSON, NY (WKBW) -Leaders with the First Baptist Church of Wilson & the Ransomville Free Methodist Church say they have been overwhelmed with calls and donations from the generous people of Western New York to help assist the Johnson Family of Wilson who lost everything in a home explosion. The blast also killed their daughter, 14-year-old Sarah Johnson. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Wilson, hundreds of clothing and housing items lined the inside of the establishment.

"What's really neat is the stories that go with the donations," said First Baptist Church Youth Pastor Tim Bach. "People have been coming in saying, 'I don't have much to give, but I'm going to give this anyway'. Its been phenomenal. Everyone has been coming out, even people that do not know the family. Everyone is stepping up."

While clothing and household items are appreciated, organizers are requesting people to make monetary donations. If the public is interested in helping the Johnson Family, you are asked to visit any First Niagara Bank branch and make a monetary donation to: The Johnson Family Benefit Fund.
