The WNY AFL-CIO will conduct their annual Labor Day Parade tomorrow in South Buffalo.

Richard Lipsitz Jr. President of the WNY Area Labor Federation will be the Grand Marshal. Marching in the parade will be 50 local labor unions, marching bands and music, twirling corps, Irish dancers, pipes and drums, elected representatives and more.

2013 Buffalo Labor Day Parade Schedule:
Monday, September 2, 2013
12 Noon
The parade begins at the Irish Center (245 Abbott Rd) and continues to Cazenovia Park

“ Labor Day is the day where we honor the working men and women of our communities. As the theme of this year’s parade is “Respecting our Voice”, we will also honor some model union employers and their unions, stated Richard Lipsitz. When workers exercise their rights in the workplace and management respects those rights, businesses, non-profits and public institutions can better problem solve and become more effective and efficient because the workers are engaged. The end result is superior goods and services,” added Lipsitz.

Emblem Health is the major sponsor of the parade and picnic this year.
