Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - WKBW-TV Channel 7 is now the first news station in Western New York to make the switch to high definition.

Thanks to the new HD signal and technical modifications to the way Eyewitness News is delivered home to you, the telecast is clearer and more vivid than ever before.

The video you see, studio presentation, AccuWeather, and graphics are now presented in 1080i with a wider 16x9 picture. However, if you still have a standard definition box television set, the picture is better...but it will still fit the frame.

Viewers just need an HD ready television to get the lifelike picture, either over an antenna to pick up the 7.1 signal...or from cable or satellite dish.

WKBW switched from standard definition to high definition last Saturday at 6p.m. for the presentation of "Eyewitness News," joining your favorite ABC shows that are also presented in HD.
