BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Two candidates are in the running for Buffalo Mayor tonight.

Mayor Byron Brown, the Democratic incumbent, faces off against Republican Sergio Rodriguez.

Brown has name recognition and cash on his side, more than $1 million, which is more than five times that of his opponent.

"Feeling good," Brown told Eyewitness News at his polling place Tuesday morning.

"We've worked hard. There's a lot of progress in the City of Buffalo. Voters feel the progress. Residents in our community feel the progress. I'm looking forward to a good day today." he said.

Rodriguez knows he is the underdog but remained hopeful. He spoke to reporters while voting in South Buffalo this morning.

"Eight years is more than enough to take care of business in the city. And we've given that to the current administration. And it's time for change. People feel it. They're out there and they've been waiting for this moment. They've been waiting for this moment," Rodriguez said.

Brown will be at Statler City watching the numbers come in tonight. Rodriguez will join supporters at Hamlin House on Franklin Street in Allentown.
