TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) - Family and friends of 25-year-old Jocelyn Elberson gathered at Kenny Field in the Town of Tonawanda for a candle light vigil Wednesday night. Police say Elberson and another pedestrian, 81-year-old Sheila Pelton, were walking separately along an Amherst Bike Path when a drunk driver lost control of his motorcycle and struck and killed the 2 women.

"The person that took my daughter's life took a very loving and caring person out of this world," said Jocelyn's Father Chuck Elberson.

During the vigil, special prayers were said for another family, who are coping with the death of their infant. 7 month-old Baylee Dion was tragically killed Tuesday morning in a separate DWI crash. Sheriff's deputies say 24-year-old Danielle Kellogg was driving drunk along Route 20 in Brant and slammed into an oncoming car driven by Baylee's Mother. The impact killed the infant and seriously injuring Baylee's Mother, Denise Hine.

The man charged in Jocelyn's death, 53-year-old David Smith, is charged with D.W.I. and criminally negligent homicide. Both families are outraged that in both cases, the drivers were repeat offenders.

"Something needs to change," added Elberson. "M wife and I are going to become advocates to try and change this."
