In Colorado, a father's plea to find his son. 27- year-old Alex Sullivan had gone to the batman premiere Thursday Night when a gunman opened fire. In the hours that followed, the family heard nothing.
"We just hoped for a miracle, prayed together, tried to stay positive," said Bob Schwab, Alex Sullivan's Uncle.
In Penfield, Sullivan's family got the tragic news later that day.
"We lost a great one," replied Schwab.
Bob Schwab is Sullivan's uncle. He says Sullivan was at the theater at that midnight showing, celebrating his 27th birthday with his friends. He was also planning to celebrate his one year wedding anniversary next week.
"He made everyone happy, everybody made him happy," said Schwab. "He never had a cross or bad word for anybody, even if they offended him, he wouldn't acknowledge it."
In the spirit of the young man they lost, the family now tries to heal and someday forgive.
"This issue tests your faith," said Schwab. "It's going to take a lot of thought, a lot of prayer and a lot of work, individual work on all of our parts."
