Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Thousands of flags now stand next to the graves of veterans, turning much of Forest Lawn Cemetery into a sea of patriotism.

After placing the flags, veterans, loved ones and community held a special ceremony to honor those who served our country.

The ceremony included a prayer, five gun salute and taps.

Ira Jordan, a U.S. Army Veteran, says the event "makes me feel special, and I hope that when I leave my family members will do the same thing."
