Attica, N.Y. (WKBW) - Two teens turned themselves into police over the weekend after police say they vandalized a car dealership.

When employees came to Upstate Chevrolet in Attica on Saturday, they were greeted with damage. The vandals smashed the windows of the cars with rocks. The case got a lot of attention over the weekend. Police said because of all the public pressure, the teens came clean to police. The teens admitted that they caused the damage but didn't say why they committed the crime.

"I'm guessing this may have been a prank that got out of hand. I don't believe they realize the extent of the damage that they are dealing with here," Attic Police Chief John Palillo said.

The vandals face Criminal Mischief charges. If convicted, they could face a year behind bars. Police did not want to release the names of the suspects because of their ages. They were both taken to jail on $20,000 bond.

Now, the dealership is beginning there long and costly repair work.
