Hamburg, NY (WKBW) - Students in the Frontier Central School District were told to stay home on Monday after school district officials found most of the buses were vandalized.

Interim Superintendent, Paul Hashem, says vandals broke into the bus yard, and used fire extinguishers to spray down the inside of 75-to-90 percent of the district's buses.

Route slips on those buses, which instruct the driver on where to go that day, were torn to pieces.

The monetary damage is expected to be substantial.

The Frontier Central School District is working with the Town of Hamburg Police to catch the suspected vandals.
