Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW) - Flames took over a vacant Buffalo home on the 900 block of Vermont Street, igniting a neighboring house on fire leaving two families displaced.

"The fireman came in and woke us out of bed. We were sleeping," resident Susan Davis said.

Susan Davis lives next door to a vacant house where a suspicious fire started around 9 a.m. Monday morning. The flames quickly spread to her house.

"I'm in shock. Oh my God," Davis said.

Susan wasn't the only one in the home. She said luckily, her fiancé and another family with four adults and four children, got out without any injuries. Now, she said they have no place to go.

As for the vacant house, investigators said this is not the first time this house has been on their radar.

"We've had a couple fires at this place before so our fire investigators are taking a look at it," Buffalo Division Fire Chief Don McFeely said.

Davis said the trouble stems even further.

"There was a stabbing next door," Davis said.

Directly in front of the vacant house that was allegedly set on fire, a sixteen year old boy was stabbed to death last month. Now, all that remains are a waterlogged memorial and nearly $75,000 in damage.

Davis said she wants to move.

"I'm scared, I don't know. I just want to go somewhere else," Davis said.
