BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) The University at Buffalo Police are looking into two instances at UB’s South Campus involving a male possibly taking photographs in the women’s bathrooms.
An e-mail sent to students at UB details the events, which happened on June 10.
“She walked into the women’s bathroom and she saw something a bit strange,” said Manting Chiang, a UB Pharmacy student. “She looked down and saw a camera pointed at her from beneath the stall.”
University Police say an Asian male entered the restrooms at Kapoor Hall between 4:00PM and 4:30PM that afternoon. Video surveillance cameras captured photos of the man, as he entered and left the building.
“I believe that they saw this man walk out of out department and he was walking toward the quad. I believe there was a pursuit to follow him, but eventually they lost him,” said Chiang.
Just this week, a similar incident was reported to police. This most recent incident happened Tuesday, June 24 at Diefendorf Hall.
“Once this got out, other people from other departments received the e-mail and saw what he looked like,” Chiang told Eyewitness News.
Since the semester is over, and only some summer classes are in session, students say South Campus is basically a ghost town.
“Most of the buildings in the summer are not too busy,” said Bibiana Sampaio, a University at Buffalo student.
University Police are working on determining the male’s identity. Students believe he attends summer classes at UB.
