Buffalo, NY (WKBW) The United Way's Women's Leadership Council has selected Cradle Beach to receive a $10,000 grant to provide a summer escape for local kids.

The council picked Cradle Beach to receive the grant at its "100 Women Who Care" event at the Twentieth Century Club in Buffalo Thursday night. Each woman paid $100 to attend, and received a ballot to vote for a local charity to receive all of the money raised.

The votes were narrowed down to Cradle Beach, Olmsted Center for Sight, and Read to Succeed Buffalo. Cradle Beach received the most votes.

Cradle Beach is a summer camp for children with disabilities and for disadvantaged children on Lake Erie in Angola.
