ORCHARD PARK, NY (WKBW/Buffalo Bills Press Release) - The Buffalo Bills are helping build a playground in Western New York. The Bills have been donating $1 for every new fan or follower on Facebook and Twitter, and will donate up to $75,000 toward the creation of a playground in the Western New York community. The campaign ends August 25th, 2012. So far, $22,276 has been raised to help the project.
This initiative is part of the NFL-United Way Hometown Huddle, a league-wide day of service designed to bring awareness and impact to the issue of youth health and fitness and the NFL Play 60 initiative. The progress has been tracked and can be found on buffalobills.com.
A local company out of Amherst, Prime Social Marketing designed and created the Tracker application www.buffalobills.com/community/playground.html which tracks the progress of new Twitter and Facebook follower.
The Bills have partnered with the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, KaBOOM!, PODS and local dairy farmers through the American Dairy Association & Dairy Council, Inc. on this project as a part of the Fuel up to PLAY 60 program.
