U.S. Temperatures for April Third-Warmest on Record

This past April was the third-warmest on record for the United States.

According to a report from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the average temperature across the contiguous U.S. was 55 degrees, marking the third-warmest April on record.

The past 12 months and the first third of 2012 were also the warmest the U.S. has experienced, according to the report.
