Amherst, NY (WKBW) - While all eyes were on President Obama on Thursday, one lucky UB student got the chance of a lifetime to introduce the Commander in Chief.

Silvana D'Ettorre never imagined this opportunity.

She found out early in the week. "I got a phone call from the White House Tuesday night on my cell phone that asked if I wanted this opportunity," D'Ettorre says. "Of course I said yes!"

Two days later, the Grand Island native would introduce the President of the United States.

D'Ettorre wanted to make President Obama and her peers proud.

"I did look at some examples of previous students who introduced the President. But then I started thinking about what he was going to present," she says. "So I put in my own experience of UB and how great the school was."

With a beaming smile and screams from the audience, D'Ettorre embarked on the highlight on the highlight of her student career -- introducing President Obama.
