Buffalo, NY (WKBW) The University at Buffalo alerted students and staff of a Level 2 Registered Sex Offender enrolled in classes for the Fall 2014 semester.
Daniel Lampke, a registered sex offender, signed up to attend classes at UB. Under Megan's Law, Lampke was required to notify the university of his status on the registry. In turn, UB is legally required to notify the campus community of any Level 2 or Level 3 sex offender attending classes there.
Lampke was convicted of Attempted Possessing Sexual Performance by Child in March, related to an incident in Evans in May 2013. Lampke was sentenced to six years probation.
According to the university, the 21-year-old UB student does not live on campus. His entry in the New York State Sex Offender Registry lists his primary residence on Versailles Plank Road in Evans, and his primary place of education as SUNY at Buffalo.
