AMHERST, NY ( WKBW ) Teenagers from a local swimming club who spent months training for a good cause, saw the result of their hard work in person.

Members of the UB Amherst Swimming Club presented a check for over $3,000 dollars to Summit Educational Resources in Getzville Monday.

The monies were raised from their annual swim-a-thon.

Swim club members not only raised the money, but were also on hand to see just how it makes good things happen for Summit.

Don Edman, Coach of the UB Swimmers told Eyewitness News, "We have some members in our club who are very active in this community, and feel that it is a worthwhile place. We really enjoy it. As you've seen, you know the kids enjoy the presentation also."

This is the 4th year the UB Swim Club has donated swim-a-thon funds to Summit Educational Resources, which offers services for children and teens with developmental disabilities.
