NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW) - Two teenagers are behind bars Thursday, charged with beating a Niagara Falls man to death with a golf club. Police have arrested 19-year-old Gary Llams Jr. of Falls Street in Niagara Falls and 17-year-old James Hardeman Jr., also of Falls Street in Niagara Falls. Both are charged with second-degree murder for the beating death of 46-year-old John E. Smith. Niagara Falls Police believe the beating death resulted from a drug deal gone wrong.

"The victim was lying in a pool of blood, arriving officers found that he was unconscious and an ambulance took him to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and he was transferred to ECMC," said Detective Capt. William Thomson. "He had blunt force trauma to the back of his head and found the head of golf club nearby."

Smith later died of his injuries and ECMC. Both teens will be arraigned Friday morning at Niagara Falls City Court.
