The first shooting happened just after 3:30 a.m. on Walden Avenue and Harmonia Street on Buffalo's east side. Police say 30-year old James Clemons of Buffalo was shot while sitting in a car. Clemons was taken to ECMC in a private vehicle and is in critical condition tonight. Police believe an argument led to the shooting.

Then, at around 6:15 a.m. a second shooting, this one fatal, on Durham Avenue near Litchfield Avenue. Investigators found a 30-year old man dead in the street. Police are not releasing the victim's name until they notify his family.

This latest homicide is Buffalo's 33rd this year. Authorities tell us they depend on the community the help them solve these cases.

"There has been great cooperation from the public over the last year and a half or so...two years. Much more cooperation from the public getting involved and those tips are leading to arrests, especially in homicide cases," said Buffalo Police Department Spokesperson Mike DeGeorge.

Police are asking anyone with information to call or text the Buffalo Police Confidential tip line at (716) 847-2255. If you are planning to leave a text message use the area code when dialing.
