BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Eyewitness Larry Lamb said, "It sounded like a bomb. Shook me up, woke me up, and I never went back to sleep that morning."
That is how neighbors described the fatal crash that happened early Saturday morning outside the Broadway Market.
Jack Davidson told Eyewitness News, "It sheared this planter, knocked the pole down, half of the car ended up inside the building and the other half across the street."
Police say four people were in the car when the crash happened, around 4:30a.m. Saturday morning.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and another died at the hospital.
Other passengers remain at ECMC in critical condition. All the victims were in their 20's.
Neighbors who live nearby Broadway and Gibson said it was terrible that someone would lose their life like this.
Police believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
On Saturday, crews worked to repair the storefront of the Broadway Market after what was described as total chaos just hours before.
This is the latest in a recent string of vehicles that crashed into buildings in the past two months, and the second incident to involve fatalities.
The Buffalo Police Accident Investigation Unit will continue their investigation.
