Two People Charged with Reckless Endangerment of a Child

Wyoming County, NY (WKBW) - Wyoming County Sheriffs were called to the Betrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, NY after they were alerted about a 13-year-old girl being treated for alcohol poisoning on October 5th, 2012.

It was established that the 13-year-old girl was given alcohol while she was at home, in the Town of Arcade. Police say two older individuals, 19-year-old Hillary D. Russell and 18-year-old Steven J Lavery, provided the alcohol to the 13-year-old girl.

Today, Russell and Lavery were arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Person under 21. and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Java Court, where they will return November 7th, 2012.

They are committed to the Wyoming County Jail with Russell to be released on a $10,000 bail, and Lavery on a $6,000 bail.
