Two Pedestrians Struck By Car In Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, NY (WKBW) - Early this morning two pedestrians were struck by a car while walking on 56th Street in the City of Niagara Falls.

Sheryl Pike (54) of Niagara Falls suffered a serious head injury and numerous broken bones is being treated at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. The other Frank Nocera (43) also from Niagara Falls received non life threatening injuries and is being treated at Mount Saint Mary Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle Wenceslao Amboy (59) of Niagara Falls hit the two individuals while they were walking in the street pushing a shopping cart that was being used to carry a brown couch. Amboy was not injured.

A third person Juanita Croft (43) of Niagara Falls, was walking with the two who were struck in the street, but Croft was not injured.

Crash Investigators believe the three pedestrians were walking in the center of the North bound lane of 56th street when they were hit.

The Niagara Falls Fire Department was called to the scene. The Niagara Falls Police Department Crash Management Unit is conducting an investigation into the accident. Charges are expected but have not been issued at this time.
