Buffalo, NY (WKBW-TV)
From the YMCA-
Registration is now closed for the 2010 Turkey Trot. We have reached the maximum capacity of 12,500 participants. We set this capacity in order to ensure everyone’s safety not only on the race course but at the post race party at the convention center as well. We hope to see you at the 2011 race!
One of Western New York’s most treasured events, the YMCA Turkey Trot brings together more than 10,000 runners of all ages and levels every Thanksgiving morning for a holiday celebration like no other!
Established in 1896, this 8K race will mark its 115th start on Thanksgiving morning, making it the oldest continually running footrace in North America (even older than the Boston Marathon)!
Immediately followed by a post-race celebration and awards ceremony that plays host to more than 14,000 runners, spectators and volunteers, this is surely an event not to be missed!
