Trooper Saves Toddler Found Unresponsive In Pool

TOWN OF BOSTON, N.Y. ( release ) On May 22, 2012, at approximately 8:50 pm, Trooper Christopher Sullivan, from the State Police Boston station, responded to a 911 call for a 23-month-old child found unresponsive in the family's in ground pool on Omphalius Rd., in the town of Boston.

Trooper Sullivan arrived on scene and found the child to be unconscious and not breathing. He immediately began CPR and was able to partially revive the child. Moments later Boston EMS arrived on scene and relieved Trooper Sullivan. The child was transported to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY, where she is currently listed in critical but stable condition. At this time, the child is expected to make a full recovery.

Investigation into this matter revealed the incident to be accidental. It was the quick actions of the child’s family, Trooper Sullivan, Boston EMS, and all others involved that contributed greatly to saving this young life.
