SALAMANCA, NY ( WKBW ) One man is dead and another remains in critical condition at Olean General Hospital after a three-person stabbing on Summit Street in Salamanca early Saturday morning.
The Sheriff's office released information Sunday that two Native American males from the Tuscarora Indian reservation were involved in an altercation with three city residents at the Summit Street house.

Cattaraugus Sheriff deputies told Eyewitness News they responded to call around 1am Saturday to three people stabbed. Two people were taken to Olean General Hospital and a third was taken to Bradford, Pennsylvania.
Cattaraugus County Sheriff Timothy Whitcomb told Eyewitness News Saturday that one of the men taken to Olean decoded on the way to the hospital and died due to the injuries he suffered. One of the other two victims was treated and released the other underwent surgery..
Greg McClure lives right next door to 79 Summit Street in Salamanca where authorities say there was a brutal stabbing around one o'clock Saturday morning.
"I heard screaming right of the bat. Like girls voices screaming, a big commotion," said McClure.
911 operators also heard that commotion. Someone called emergency dispatchers but did not say anything on the other end of the line.
"Our communication officers could hear what sounded like a loud disturbance taking place and some confrontation," said Cattaraugus Sheriff Tim Whitcomb.
When officers arrived on the scene they found three people with lacerations and stab wounds.
"It got quiet, then I heard someone pounding on the neighbor's door to this side of the house saying to call an ambulance, get help....that his brother had been stabbed and he thought he was dying," said McClure.
All three victims were taken to area hospitals. One person died at the hospital, another person remains in critical condition. The final victim was treated and released.
"It's tragic that it happened. This is a very small, quiet town. This neighborhood in particular has always been a good place to raise kids and people sit on their porch here all the time and you just don't see this kind of stuff," said McClure.
Investigators will be meeting with the Cattaraugus County District Attorneys Office, and charges are still pending.
