HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW)- Police are continuing their investigation Saturday night after a Toys 'R' Us employee is dead after a brutal attack in the Hamburg store. He later died at Mercy Hospital.

The victim was found by an employee who was looking for him in the store.

Local residents are shocked something like this could happen in their quiet community.

"It's really surprising that something like would happen here, it's for kids," said Matt Reynolds of Hamburg.

The suspect did leave something behind. Police hope someone recognizes this Florida Gators Championship hat from 2007 and that the information helps lead police to the suspect.

Authorities are also working to enhance the surveillance video from the store.

"It makes me concerned for my family, my kids and my grandkids," said Bill McDonald of Hamburg.

A spokesperson for Toys 'R' Us tells Eyewitness News the Hamburg store will remain closed until the investigation is complete.
