Hamburg, NY (WKBW) - The hunt is on for the man who killed a Toys "R" Us assistant manager in his office.

As the family prepares to lay him to rest, the police have now identified the victim and released surveillance images of the suspect.

Flowers have been placed in front of the store, while authorities try to hunt down the person who killed 35-year-old Laurence Wells.

The Town of Hamburg Police released two images. They are grainy, but police hope they will lead to an arrest.

A man between 5'9" and 5"11" is seen entering the building at about 4:20 on Saturday morning, holding a sharp object.

The suspect is seen throughout the store, and then at 4:30 in the manager's office.

Then the video becomes disabled. Investigators believe the suspect pulled the security camera's plug from the wall.

Investigators believe between 4:40 and 5:40, the suspect attacked Wells.

It is hard to tell, but police believe the suspect is wearing sweatpants with lettering down the left leg, along with a jacket with a high tan collar or a scarf.

Police add that a 2007, Florida Gators Championship hat found at the crime scene could hold a key clue -- it's being sent out for DNA analysis.

Crime scene remains taped up around at every entrance. The parking lot is empty and the store was closed on Sunday.

Meanwhile, on Facebook, a memorial page serves as a growing tribute to Laurence Wells, with more than 1,000 likes in just a few hours.

Online, Wells is being remembered for his ability to make people smile.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Larry Wells at the Riles and Woolley Funeral Home in Forestville. Visiting hours are Wednesday from two through four and seven through nine. The funeral is Thursday at 11 in the morning.

Police say they do not yet have a motive.
