Town of Tonawanda Police Conduct Drill Following Boston Bombing

April 16, 2013 Updated Apr 16, 2013 at 10:29 AM EDT

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) - Following the Boston Marathon bombing, Town of Tonawanda Police is conducting a drill to simulate restricted access to the building and parking lot if there was a bomb threat of other emergency.

Police advise there is no actual emergency. The full-scale restriction has been reduced to only restrict access to the front area of the building as of 9 a.m.

Currently, the Police Chief intends to keep this in place for the remainder of the day.

The Police Department is still open for all normal services.
