WILLIAMSVILLE, NY (WKBW) - Amherst Town Board member Jay Anderson says it is time for the New York State Thruway Authority to get moving...
...out of town.
Anderson introduced sponsored two resolutions, which were both approved by the board on Monday.
One asks the Thruway Authority to explore moving the Williamsville Toll Barrier out of town, perhaps into Clarence, Newstead or Pembroke.
The second asks the town's attorney to explore why the project has been delayed for 11 years.
"There has been a dropping of the ball on this," Anderson said at Monday's meeting. "And the potential waste of millions of federal dollars and complete an activity to the responsibility to the resident of Amherst and the residents of Williamsville."
