BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The snow on Friday caused a slow commute and a number of accidents across Western New York.

The weather also kept tow truck operators extremely busy.

Bob Schoemann, owner of Shoemann's Road Service Inc., assisted dozens of stranded motorists. Schoemann not only battles the elements to help stranded motorists, but has to tackle the traffic as well. His job requires him to be in some of the most dangerous spots on the roadways.

Schoemann and other companies want to stress the importance of the newly implemented Move Over Law, that requires drivers to switch lanes and slow down when approaching any type of emergency vehicle on the side of the road.

"People don't really know the law is for tow trucks. I've seen the signs on the thruway, but there's a lot of distracted drivers, a lot of texting and drivers using cell phones," said Schoemann.
