AMHERST, NY - Five people are being evaluated at ECMC after being involved in an accident on the New York State Thruway shortly after 8 this morning.
State Police say a tour bus and a Honda civic were traveling westbound between exit 49 and the Williamsville Tolls when an uninvolved car made an unsafe lane change. This caused a chain effect causing the Honda civic was forced to make a quick stop. The tour bus however was unable to slow down in time, rear-ending the Honda civic.
State Police say one person on the tour bus complained of knee pain but declined treatment. Five people in the Honda civic complained of head, neck and back pain. They were treated at the scene and are currently at ECMC for evaluation.
No charges have been filed but the operator of the tour bus was issued a ticket for following too closely.
