Eleven administrators received more than $200,000 in compensation from the Rochester Area's public school districts last year.

Business First has released a list of the top 1,000 salaries paid by the 67 districts within the eight-county region. The list, which includes 783 employees who earned more than $100,000 in 2012, extends down to $95,580.

The compensation figures come from the New York State Teachers Retirement System and SeeThrough New York, a comprehensive website that specializes in facts and figures about state and local governments.

Mary Alice Price, who recently retired as superintendent of the Pittsford Central School District, tops the 2011-2012 compensation list at $244,168. She is followed by David Dimbleby of Hilton at $239,877 and Kenneth Graham of Rush-Henrietta at $225,584.

The region's biggest school system, Rochester, employs more than one-third of all administrators and teachers listed in the top 1,000 -- a total of 369. It's followed by Pittsford (with 51 employees among the 1,000 compensation leaders), Webster (43) and Fairport (33).

The rankings are confined to cash compensation in the 2011-2012 academic year. They do not account for the cost of pensions, health insurance or other benefits, but may include lump-sum payments for unused sick leave or vacation.
