Buffalo, NY

What can be more Italian than a good old fashioned grape stomping competition which is a new feature a the 25th anniversary of the Sorento Cheese Italian Heritage Festival on Hertel Avenue in Buffalo.

After you've worked up your appetite you head down the avenue and check out some of the special creations the festival has to offer including fried Oreo's, snickers and Twinkies.

But if you have a more sophisticated palate perhaps you would like to dine on lobster and chilled oysters or Italian classics like pizza, Italian sausage or fried bologna.

There are also plenty of choices to wash it all down and cool down, how about a cold glass of lemonade or a cup of italian shaved ice.

If you want to take a break from the sun you can duck into the cooking demonstration tent and get a lesson from a pro.

For entertainment head to the Frankie Scinta stage or the Jazz stage.
