Buffalo, NY
For the thousands of people recovering from Tropical Storm Andrea the Red Cross will be there. The organization's annual Bash is also making sure support is always available for people here in Western New York.

The American Red Cross headquarters on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo transformed into a military playground under the tents for The Bash Friday for the 15th annual fundraiser.

More than 4,000 people attended to enjoy food, drinks and music but also to support the work of the local Red Cross.

Over the past year the organization has provided assistance to 1,500 people left without homes due to a disaster, mostly house fires.

And that work continues far from home too. They've been on the ground providing relief after Hurricane Sandy, the Boston marathon bombings and Friday night they were monitoring the situation with Tropical Storm Andrea.

Although the local Red Cross travels the country all the money raised at The Bash tonight will fund disaster and relief programs in Western New York.
Last year they raised $360,000.
