BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - This morning hundreds of volunteers will be packaging 4700 meals. Those meals will be hand delivered by teams of drivers to needy people here in Buffalo and the surrounding area.

Just a few weeks ago the City Mission put out an urgent appeal for turkeys.

They were short 2000 turkeys.

But the community came through and the City Mission got their turkeys and with the help of great local organization - Meals on Wheels - they got those turkeys cooked in just a couple days time.

So what does it take to put together 4700 meals?

City Mission Associate Director, Mike Smith, shows Eyewitness News how volunteers spent the night before Thanksgiving getting things ready.
