(Mayville, NY) 18-year old Philip Whitfield was sentenced for his role in an October 12, 2011 home invasion that targeted a elderly Dunkirk man.
Whitfield plead guilty to 3rd degree robbery and is co-operating with authorities as the investigation into the crime continues.
Chautauqua County Court Judge, John T. Ward, granted Whitfield youthful offender status.
The teenager was sentenced to 45-days / time served and 5-years strict probation.
Dunkirk police arrested three males in connection with the home invasion. A fourth arrest is pending.
Hank Serafin, the 83-year old victim, tells Eyewitness News that the four males followed him into his home after he returned from a funeral.
Serafin says the suspects roughed him up and made him fear for his life before taking off with thousands of dollars.
