BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - The Town of Tonawanda teen who pleaded guilty to hitting a classmate with her car learned her sentence in State Supreme Court today.
18-year-old Liana Nieves ran over 17-year-old Madeline Silva with her car in April of 2013.
Police say the two high school seniors had been fighting on social media after it was discovered that Nieves was bringing another girl to the prom.
Nieves pleaded guilty to first degree assault in July. She was sentenced to spend weekends in jail for the next six months, and five years probation. She must also serve 250 hours of community service and write a letter of apology to Silvia.
