Amherst- A new driver training program will begin at SUNY Buffalo early next month. It uses a simulator to teach teenagers how to become safe drivers. Authorities believe they can do a better job of turning out safe drivers by turning away from the training methods that have been used for decades, and adding a new supplement. Students who have learner permits would enroll in a 10 hour course at the North Campus. They would be put into dangerous situations, and learn how to get out of them, without actually being in any danger at all. Simulators have been used for years to train commercial pilots. The leading cause of death for teenagers is now traffic accidents. For more information and to apply, you must send an email request to "UBSIMULATORTRAINING@GMAIL.COM"
