Team Approach for Area Colleges

Hilbert College and St. Bonaventure University are considering joining forces. A report in this week's Business First shows how colleges with at least 3,000 students are financially viable. St. Bonaventure has about 2,300 students and Hilbert about 1,000 so a strategic alliance, as school officials call it, could offer more academic programs and operations in the long term. The colleges have received $250,000 from the John R. Oishei Foundation to study a team approach. Officials say all options are being considered.

After 12 years, Windows XP will no longer be supported by Microsoft as of April 8. Many area companies are spending money on upgrades and training for workers. While XP won't stop working April 8, computer experts say there are risks involved in using it since there won't be security updates.
